Privacy Policy

How A Good Life collects, uses, and shares your information when you use Open Label — the exact text shown inside the app.

Last updated 30 September 2026

This describes what Open Label, operated by A GOOD LIFE (23, Hauz Khas Village, New Delhi 110016, India), collects, why, who else sees it, and how you can have it deleted.

1. What we collect

  • Your phone number, to sign you in with a one-time code sent over WhatsApp.
  • Your name, email address and profile photo, if you add them. They are optional.
  • Your dietary profile, if you set one — allergens, diabetic and low-sodium flags, and diet type — used only to personalize your scores. It can describe a health condition, so we treat it as sensitive.
  • Your scan history — the barcodes you scanned or the ingredient list read from a photo, and the resulting scores — kept so History can show you what you've scanned before.
  • The text the camera read from an ingredient panel, or that you typed, kept with the scan for 30 days so we can find out why a result was poor, then erased.
  • Without an account, a random identifier made on your phone, only to count the free scans you've used. Those scans are counted, not saved.
  • A push-notification token for your phone, if you allow notifications, and the messages you send to support.
  • Your Premium subscription: a signed record from the App Store or Google Play of what you bought, when it ends and whether it renews.
  • Technical information sent with each request — IP address, app version, device type — kept in server logs for security and troubleshooting.

2. What we don't collect

We do not use advertising identifiers, analytics or advertising SDKs, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. We never ask for a government ID, your contacts or your location. A photograph you take of an ingredient panel is read for its text on your phone and is not uploaded or stored as an image. A profile photo is the only image you can send us, and only if you choose one.

3. How we use it

To sign you in, look up a product, score it against your dietary profile, enforce the free plan's monthly scan limit, show you your scan history, confirm your subscription, answer support requests, send notices about your account and the service, and keep the service secure. We don't sell your data, and we don't use it to show you ads.

4. Payments

If you subscribe to Open Label Premium, your payment is handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play — we receive only a signed confirmation that a subscription is active, never your card details.

5. Sharing

We share information only with the companies that help us run Open Label, and only as needed: Apple or Google (subscriptions and push notifications), Meta's WhatsApp Business (delivering your sign-in code), our hosting and email providers (Render, Cloudflare and Resend), and Open Food Facts, which is sent a barcode we don't already know so it can tell us the product. We don't sell data to anyone. If the business is merged or sold, information may move with it and we will tell you. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.

6. Data retention and deletion

Your scan history and dietary profile are kept for as long as your account exists. To delete your account, open Settings, then Account, then Delete account. We erase the account, your scans and your dietary profile seven days later; write to hello@openslot.cc within that week to change your mind. We may keep subscription and tax records for as long as the law requires.

7. Your rights and choices

You can see and change your details in the app, turn notifications off in your phone's settings, and cancel Premium in your Apple ID or Google Play settings. Subject to the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to access, correct or erase your personal data, withdraw consent, and have a grievance addressed by writing to hello@openslot.cc (subject: Grievance). We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and aim to resolve them within a month; if you are not satisfied you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

8. Where information is processed

Your information may be processed and stored in India and in other countries where our providers operate, over encrypted connections, behind access controls.

9. Children

Open Label isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone below the age of consent in their country. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We'll update this page, and its date, if what we collect or how we use it changes, and tell you about changes that matter.
