Terms of Service
The terms for Open Label, the food-label scoring app, and its Premium subscription, operated by A Good Life — with the disclaimer, exactly as shown inside the app.
On this page
These Terms of Service govern your use of Open Label, an app that scores packaged food products from a barcode scan or a photograph of the ingredient panel. By creating an account or using Open Label, you agree to these terms.
1. The service
Open Label matches a product's ingredients against its own ingredient database and produces a 0–100 score using its own proprietary methodology, personalized to any allergens, diabetic or low-sodium needs, and diet type you set in your Dietary profile. A score reflects publicly available ingredient and nutrition information and Open Label's own opinion of it — it is not medical, dietary, or regulatory advice. See our Disclaimer for more.
2. Your account
You sign in with a phone number and a one-time code. You're responsible for keeping access to that phone number secure — anyone who can receive your one-time code can sign in as you. You must be old enough to consent to these terms under the law of your country to create an account.
3. Free and Premium plans
Open Label is free to use up to a monthly scan limit. Open Label Premium raises that limit and unlocks the Dietary profile feature that personalizes every score. Premium is a subscription billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, whichever store you downloaded Open Label from — we never process payment details ourselves.
- Price, billing period, and any introductory offer are shown in the app before you subscribe, and are set by your local App Store or Play Store listing.
- A subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it renews. You're charged for the renewal within that 24-hour window.
- Cancel, change, or manage your subscription any time in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings — Open Label cannot cancel it for you.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own refund policies, not by us directly.
4. Acceptable use
Don't use Open Label to misrepresent a product's ingredients, interfere with the service, or extract our ingredient database or scoring methodology for a competing product.
5. Disclaimer of warranties; limitation of liability
Open Label is provided "as is." We work to keep scores accurate, but ingredient databases, photo readings, and barcode lookups can be incomplete or wrong — always check a product's own physical label before eating it, especially if you have an allergy or a medical condition. See our separate Disclaimer for the full statement on liability.
6. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. Continuing to use Open Label after an update means you accept the new terms.
7. Contact
Questions about these terms: hello@openslot.cc
Open Label is a guidance tool, not a medical, dietary, or regulatory authority.
8. Not medical or dietary advice
A score, an allergen warning, or a diet-exclusion flag reflects Open Label's own proprietary methodology applied to publicly available ingredient and nutrition information — it is not a diagnosis, a treatment recommendation, or professional dietary advice. It does not replace reading a product's own printed label, and it does not replace the judgment of a doctor, dietitian, or allergist.
9. Accuracy isn't guaranteed
Ingredient databases go out of date, barcodes can be reused or mislabeled by manufacturers, and photographed text can be misread. Always check the physical product's own label — especially its allergen declaration — before consuming it, particularly if you or someone you're scanning for has a food allergy or a medical condition that depends on it.
10. No liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Open Label and A Good Life are not liable for any illness, injury, allergic reaction, or other harm or loss arising from reliance on a score, a warning, or any other information the app provides. You use Open Label, and act on what it tells you, entirely at your own risk. Nothing in this disclaimer limits any liability that cannot be excluded under the law of your country.
11. If you have a known allergy or medical condition
Open Label's allergen and diet-exclusion warnings are a convenience, not a substitute for reading the product's own ingredient list yourself every time — ingredient lists and allergen declarations do change between production batches.
